Swine Flu Vaccine – A Dangerous Shot in the Dark August 13, 2009

The whole Swine Flu situation has seemed fishy from the beginning.  Why has the media continually spread intense fear about a flu that is no more dangerous than a regular flu?  Now word goes out that Swine Flu vaccine may be administered to all children in public schools, as part of a mass-vaccination plan to curb this “epidemic.”

Take pause.  Not only is this kind of action unprecedented, it’s not safe.  The Swine Flu is a “live virus” vaccine that has undergone minimal testing.  It contains VERY serious, suspect ingredients – more so than typical childhood vaccines.  As a live virus vaccine, those who are vaccinated can actually spread the flu to those who are not.  The contagious nature of live virus vaccines is not contested at all.  It’s just supposed to be irrelevant because everyone should get vaccinated.  Problem is, vaccines do not work for everyone who receives them and everyone should not be vaccinated or will not be vaccinated.

Here’s a true epidemic of swine flue in the making.  But that’s not the worst part – here’s a frightening use of government clout and media scare tactics that leaves drug makers rolling in the dough.  And what will be the long term health results of distributing such a vaccine to the general population, including the vulnerable pregnant mom and her young children?  Frighteningly unknown.

I decided to post about this today after reading a few documents “DOZENS OF EXPERTS AND WORLD LEADERS
REBUKE FEDERAL FLU VACCINATIONS AND QUARANTINE CAMPS CITING RISKS AND UNPROVEN BENEFITS” and “A HARD LOOK AT MANDATORY LIVE VIRUS VACCINATIONS – WHAT’S REALITY AND WHAT TO DO”.  Both documents can be found Here, along with a sample letter to send to your politician, if you’d like to take action.

The documents are long, so if you don’t have time to read, here are some excerpts that I found relevant:

  • The swine flu appears to have been laboratory generated…. This current swine flu is at best between 4-8% a match in terms of genetic material to its closest genetic relatives and there is no remotely close match in the public NIH databases… Aware of these insider facts, a significant number of virologists and other health professionals and scientists stated that this had to be produced in a laboratory and could not occur naturally.
  • It normally takes a minimum of 12-18 months to create a vaccine after a virus has been identified. How is it that Baxter Laboratories, after receiving the seed culture of the swine flu virus that was provided in May 2009, announced that they would have the vaccine ready by July of 2009.
  • There literally is no data for this vaccine as per its use in children, pregnant women, and asthmatics.
  • According to the London Evening Standard, WHO officials have warned that H1N1 vaccines may be unsafe. The Institute of Science and Society has said that the vaccines will be far more deadly than the swine flu, and that mass vaccinations are a recipe for disaster.
  • During the 1976 swine flu scare, the swine flu vaccine itself killed hundreds & sickened countless others, and had an unusually high rate of Guillain-Barre Syndrome associated with it.
  • Swine Flu ingredients include:  squalene, animal tissues, viral proteins, foreign DNA and RNA, formaldehyde, live genetically-engineered viruses, and mercury.
  • Side effects from vaccine fillers and adjuvants—especially squalene— include a variety of debilitating auto-immune diseases and a significant percentage of deaths. Squalene, condemned congressional investigators in 2004, is indicated as the primary cause of tens of thousands of deaths, and hundreds of thousands of chronic cases of Gulf War-related illnesses.
  • The CDC claims 36,000 Americans annually die from flu. As of August 2009, the swine flu has killed approximately 1,000 people worldwide, according to CNN, which is a lot less than 36,000. This is hardly a traditionally defined pandemic in terms of numbers, yet there has been a major media fear/panic, which preps the people to take this untested and potentially lethal flu vaccine without even a freedom of choice.
  • This unprecedented Department of Health’s 2009 flu response plan calls for people—especially children—to receive three or four different live flu virus vaccines simultaneously.
  • Substantive research shows all flu vaccinations have little to no effect on preventing or minimizing the flu.
  • The science by our own CDC (Center of Disease Control) shows that flu vaccines are somewhere between 0-14% effective. Research in Israel shows they are 1% effective with a general lowering of the immune system.

I repeat, these bullet points are excerpts from the documents cited above.  To examine the studies and sources that lead to these conclusions please read the documents Here.  If you’re a parent interested in a fair, unbiased explanation of vaccines, read Dr. Sears’ The Vaccine Book.  Dr. Sear’s book manages to inform without pushing a parent to vaccinate or refrain from vaccinating.

Thank you for the information! I agree that vaccinations should never be mandatory preventative medicine. As an individual now (and a parent in 5 months), I choose to focus on staying fit, getting regular acupuncture treatments, and eating probiotic-rich foods (the population in our GI tract serve as a primary defense to any pathogen). Certainly there will always be a disease out there with the potential of causing death. This is how nature works to maintain balance. However, receiving every vaccination available may actually weaken our natural immunity or cause severe side effects, as you have pointed out. I don’t recall ever having the flu in my lifetime. So, why in the world would I get a vaccine for it? Even though H1N1 is different, I will still refuse the vaccine.

  2. Awesome post. I really appreciate all the facts & figures too. I wish we could get the “word” out to people even more. There is no way an untested treatment is going in my kids’ bodies.

Did you happen to hear that Baxter registered a patent on the H1N1 vaccine a year before the flu manifested? It really doesn’t make me feel any better about the questionable science being thrust upon millions worldwide. The current US administration also gave blanket immunity to the manufacturers of the vaccine. Indeed, a shot in the dark. I will definitely not be getting in line for the swine flu vaccine. http://bit.ly/fVopA

Thanks for posting this info. Well worth the read. I posted a link on my FB page. Hope more people learn about the background of this & stop being so scared. You have a great blog!

  5. STOP THE VAX Says:

Vaccines are POISON. The only one[s] who benefit from vaccines are PHARMACEUTICALS. Lots of Vitamin D will protect you from the flu and many other diseases. DON’T be fooled by paid off media hype. STOP the sickening assault on humanity.

    Dear blogger and readers,

This was a very entertaining piece. I particularly liked the list of fear-inducing bullet points which, upon further investigation, cited ZERO credible sources. It’s as if somebody is just saying “WATCH OUT FOR THIS REALLY BAD THING, THE GOVERNMENT DID THIS SIX MONTHS AGO, BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE MY WORD FOR IT BECAUSE I DON’T CITE ANY SOURCES!”

But seriously, saying that the risks of swine flu vaccination on a population scale are unknown is ludicrous. There was a small outbreak of this very virus (swine influenza) in the U.S. in 1976. As a result, over 48 million Americans were vaccinated, but the program was later discontinued by the government because a very small amount of people were developing illness (and a couple hundred died) as a result of the vaccine. (Source: http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/111/3/270)

The amount of people who developed illnesses and died as a result of being administered the vaccine is miniscule. I’m not trying to say that those people who died don’t matter, but the point is that every medical procedure carries some risk, and the amount of risk involved in receiving a vaccine is no higher than the risk involved in playing outside in the sun on a very hot day. One report concluded an overall attributable risk of vaccine-related illness at less than 1 in 100,000. (Source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/463869)

Now you tell me – if the government was willing to discontinue its vaccination program because people had a 1 in 100,000 chance of developing an illness, how can anybody take seriously your saying that the government is actively trying to scare people into taking the vaccine today? What you’re saying doesn’t make any sense.

If you don’t want your kids receiving the vaccine because of the risk, fine, there’s nothing wrong with that. But saying that this whole situation is a big conspiracy by the government is quite humorous.

To the readers of this blog: demand that the author cite sources next time. Don’t just take whatever they say as truth, because when it comes to government conspiracies against the entire country, there’s probably very little truth at all being written here.

  7. Rachel Says:

    Nate,

A careful reader would have found that I did cite my source, with a link to the documents from which the bullet points were excerpted. However, to make it more clear, I just edited the post to add another citation below those bullet points.

Your paragraph about the deaths from the 1976 swine flu mass vacination and the government’s decision to discontinue that vaccine only makes the point that the 1976 vaccine was not safe. I certainly agree. The 1976 swine flu is discussed in the documents I cited.

Your statement, “the amount of risk involved in receiving a vaccine is no higher than the risk involved in playing outside in the sun on a very hot day” is ridiculous. 1. You can’t determine the risk of all vaccine’s in bulk. Each vaccine and disease is different and carries different risk. 2. Determining the risk of any given vaccine is extremely complicated. There is limited data and very few scientists attempting to answer that question. Comparing vaccinating to playing in the sun is vastly oversimplifying a complicated topic.

The fact that the government decided in 1976 to discontinue the risky swine flu vaccine is not at all comforting. It seems that the government made a grave mistake in distributing the vaccine at all. That’s a mistake they may make again. You characterize the 1976 government as benign, holding the people’s best interest at heart. That may be so, but it says nothing about the government today – a different set of folks. I don’t question that there are many great people in office who do hold the people’s best interest at heart. Unfortunatly, there are also many leaders who are unduly swayed by special interests – like the powerful, rich pharmaceutical companies. What’s more likely to guide politics, the greater good or the money? It can certainly go either way.
